I just got back from Washington DC for the 69th annual National Cartoonists Society's Reuben awards!
For the fourth year in a row I've had the privliedge of creating the official artwork for the awards gala. This always means lots of time drawing characters from 50 or so comic strips, as well as specials guests and the nominees for the big award, the Reuben.
That's Mad Magazine legend Mort Drucker as Lincoln, Jeff 'Family Circus' Keane, who's receiving the Silver T-Square award for service to the organization. On the segways, Stephan 'Pearls Before Swine' Pastis, Hilary 'Rhymes with Orange' Price, Cartoonist Roz Chast, and MC Jason Chatfield. And did I mention, a crap load of cartoon characters. If you can name them all, you get a free taco!
